Jemison isn't just an astronaut; she's a physician, engineer, and the first African American woman to travel to space! ๐Ÿš€ In 1992, she orbited Earth aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour, proving that the sky is not the limit.

Dr. Jemison's journey is a powerful reminder that with determination and intellect, there are no boundaries to what we can achieve. Beyond her incredible space flight, she continues to advocate for science literacy and STEM education, inspiring countless future innovators. ๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿพโ€๐Ÿš€

#BlackHistoryMonth #BlackInTech #MaeJemison #NASA #Astronaut #STEMEducation #SpaceExplorationDid you know the "Father of the Video Game Cartridge" was a Black engineer named Jerry Lawson? ๐ŸŽฎโœจ

Before the mid-70s, video game consoles came with games built-inโ€”once you played them all, that was it. Jerry Lawson changed the game forever. As the Chief Hardware Engineer at Fairchild Semiconductor, he led the team that created the Fairchild Channel F, the first home console to use interchangeable ROM cartridges.

This innovation didn't just give us variety; it created the entire business model for the gaming industry we know today. Without Jerry, we wouldn't have the modular systems that paved the way for Atari, Nintendo, and modern consoles like the PlayStation and Xbox. ๐Ÿ•น๏ธ๐Ÿš€

Jerry was also a pioneer in the "Homebrew Computer Club," where he was one of the only Black members alongside tech legends like Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak.

Today, we level up in honor of Jerry Lawsonโ€™s legacy! ๐Ÿ‘พ

Before there was GPS on your phone, there was Dr. West. A brilliant mathematician, she played a pivotal role in developing the satellite geodesy models that eventually became the foundation for the Global Positioning System (GPS). While working at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, she processed satellite data to develop an accurate mathematical model of Earth's shape. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’ป

Her contributions went unrecognized for decades, but today we celebrate the woman whose work literally maps our world.
