AI in Action: Reflections of Faculty & Staff Use of AI for Teaching, Research, and Productivity
Welcome to the digital showcase of the HBCU AI Train the Trainer Summit, held March 22–24, 2026. This page serves as a living archive of the innovative ways faculty and staff are integrating artificial intelligence into the fabric of higher education. The abstracts featured here are the result of a specialized activity: Transforming Faculty/Staff AI Experiences into Journal-Ready Abstracts. By bridging the gap between raw professional reflection and formal academic writing, our participants have documented the evolution of their workflows in real-time.
From Voice to Verse: Our Methodology
To capture the authentic "voice" of the educator, participants utilized the Gemini mobile app to bridge the transition from spoken insight to scholarly publication. This process empowered contributors to move through four distinct phases:
- Natural Dictation via Gemini Live: Using the fluid, conversational "Live" mode, faculty narrated their firsthand experiences with AI tools—ranging from LLMs to productivity automation—without the constraints of a keyboard.
- AI-Assisted Synthesis: Using a rigorous, evidence-based prompt, these reflections were synthesized into single-paragraph, 250-word abstracts formatted to APA 7th edition standards.
- Scholarly Validation: Each abstract incorporates peer-reviewed citations (2020–2025), ensuring that personal reflections are grounded in current academic discourse.
- Peer Review & Consent: Every entry displayed on this site has been reviewed by the author and submitted with formal consent to the TSU SMART AI Research Proceeding Webpage.
Explore the Findings
