At the Tennessee State University SMART Innovation Technology Center, the Academic eSports Lab is more than a place to play. It is a dynamic learning environment where students turn their passion for gaming into practical skills, meaningful connections, and future-ready opportunities.
The lab brings together competitive gaming, academic exploration, and hands-on technology experiences to show how eSports can open doors across science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM). Students can explore the many roles that shape the gaming and digital-media industries—from game design and coding to content creation, team management, coaching, marketing, production, and entrepreneurship.
