HBCU Strong, AI smart: coding and creating a future without limitations

We are proud to highlight our leadership in the HBCU-C2 'Everyone Can Code and Create' Initiative, aimed at empowering faculty, staff, and students across our HBCU community! With the tremendous support from Apple, we've expanded our reach this year, welcoming more HBCUs into our collaborative effort. Through this initiative, we're providing essential training to community organizations like 100 Young Black Men and Girls Can Code. Our HBCU App Development Showcase has allowed student teams to design innovative apps that tackle real community and school issues.

This year, we're thrilled to announce our expansion into Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), utilizing open educational resources (OER) to ensure our students have access to opportunities in these emerging technologies.
In an exciting development, we recently established a HBCU-C2 SMART Center in Ghana, where we'll offer credit courses for students and professional training for faculty.

We are committed to providing all learners with the tools and resources they need to succeed, and we’re thrilled to collaborate with Apple to amplify our impact globally!

Together we will figure it out

Our mission

HBCU C2 = { Coding & Creativity }
HBCU C2 is a national teaching and learning initiative that empowers any HBCU to bring coding and creativity experiences and program opportunities to their home campus and community. HBCU C2 promotes innovation, educational equity, and aims to address community challenges using app design and Apple’s Swift programming language.

Community Focused
The HBCU C2 community is committed to creating opportunities that will diversify the tech workforce by removing barriers, innovating STEM education, and developing life-long learning pathways. C-squared HBCUs engage in this effort with key industry partners so that our contribution leads to a more skilled, diverse workforce pipeline for high-demand technical and creative careers.

Building Capacity at Scale
Increased support for HBCUs, building on partnerships in STEM education, community colleges and public schools, and community education initiatives that bring critical resources and technology to underserved students and teachers.

"Anything is possible when people come together with a shared vision. Thank you @TSUedu for your leadership and enthusiasm in bringing coding to your community and HBCUs nationwide!"
